Equal Care Day of Action

Foresighted Consideration – Ways to a Caring Society

MINE Friday Zoom “Let’s build bridges” follows this year’s main theme of the Equal Care Day of Action. In case you missed the conversation, you can still watch the recorded event.

About the event:

The topic is diverse and allows many questions that we would like to talk about across
borders.

In mother-family or parent-child centers, care work is regularly offered in private or
public space and is part of the self-understanding of mother centers in Eastern and
Western Europe, Canada and the global South.

On the occasion of this year’s Equal Care Day of Action, we want to promote and
motivate the exchange and continue the dialogue within the MINE network.
Dr. Uta Graewe, sociologist and household economist, will initiate the dialogue and
accompany the conversation from the wealth of her extensive experience.

We are pleased to welcome Uta Graewe, also a long-time friend of the Mothers Center
Movement. She co-authored the Equal Care Manifesto with the strong public statement
too: “Care work must be seen and paid fairly”.

The International Network of Mothers Centers was one of the first to sign in February
2020, and this day of action also connects us to one of the MINE guiding principles:
We strive for a world in which care work is visible and recognized.
